Thanks! I used the Gleim and got a 91 after bout 10 hours of half ass studying |
I can't figure out why people are foaming at the mouth to work at the sweatshop Colgan. Shame on you for wanting to join one of the biggest undercutters in the profession. I was furloughed and whipsawed out of my last regional job by Colgan, and I guess it just doesn't stop as long as Colgan has a stack of resumes on his desk with pilots just waiting to undercut others.

What better things are you planning to move to? Gee look at all the majors hiring right now. If you go to Colgan you should plan to be there quite some time. Perhaps you are planning on moving up to Republic or GoJet.

Or perhaps he thinks outside the box and has corporate connects, he didn't say stepping stone to one particular part of the industry. FWIW he could be flying for Cathay after Colgan... anything is possible!
Choose carefully. Commuters aka Regionals are no longer stepping stones. |

D@mn, Regionals have been downgraded from stepping stones to pebbles, I guess you just skip them on water until they sink...
There is, and never will be, a shortage of pilots. Pay and benefits are going to continue to go down, age 65 will play no factor in that. |
does anyone have anything new to add to the discussion? cause everything said on here has been discussed ad nauseum

????????? Pretty judgemental and choosy for someone who appears to not have a job. Yeah they have an autopilot, but since they don't have a magenta line to follow, you might crap your pants in fear....Better brush up on your ADF skills if you want to pass a 340 checkride:rolleyes: Apparently an aircraft that still requires airmanship is below you...
Next time you reply to a post you should be a little more professional and not act like a typical disgruntled airline pilot. |

Luckily I have been fortunate enough to be able to avoid those working conditions. Thank you for the answers to my simple questions.

Guessing fleet average is about 35-40,000 hours and a few more cycles. They are NOT new. They show their age probably as well an MD-80 or 90. And like the Mad Dogs, the Saabs were built in Foundries, not Factories. If you are expecting bright, shinny, perfect, new airplanes, the Saab isn't it..... but then neither are 98.9% of all the other planes flying. |
