Nice try at reading a false rumor. PB has an aviation gig, but not at an airline.

it's about time they ran out of people willing to fly a part 121 jet airliner for $24 an hour... of course, the ability to go straight from classroom to flight levels may have explained it.

EXCUSE ME!!! $25, thank you very much... Just saying

Sad but I agree, any ideas on how we can make it better, besides sitting at home watching they drop mins and people getting experience and on a seniority list while you wait for the pay to increase :(

I find that hard to believe. If they only have 100 the regionals will be in a world of pain in a few months.

PilotJ3 05-09-2011 05:02 AM

Is there a new class today?

clipperskipper 05-09-2011 05:16 AM

I think Eagle is rather short sighted by not hiring experienced 121 high-timers.

actually, I think they are hedging pilots the way airlines hedge fuel.

Massive retirements at mainlines expected
Flight Time, Duty Time to require more pilots
1500 Hour rule soon to limit pool of hirables
much few new pilot starts nationwide

all means there won't be enough pilots for the jobs soon... so, get em while you can.

So, hire all the low time kids you possibly can, while you can, then when the 1500 hour rule kicks in, grab all the experienced guys....

anybody signing a new long term contract with these types of changes about to hit the industry are idiots. For the first time in 25 years the pilots will be in the negotiating drivers seat. I predict that the APA will get an industry leading contract within the next year, perhaps two... the longer they wait, the better.

time to start furloughing some lower to upper management types....

Yes I know of some people in there today. I am starting on 5/23, just missed the window on the 5/9 but it worked out better anyways. Hoping someone will post the offerings, just nice to see what's getting handed out.

Congrats, I'm still awaiting the captain review board's decision... what day did you hear back? I'm hoping to hear from Eagle today or tomorrow and somehow sneak into the May 23rd class... Where did you do your medical?

love2av8 05-09-2011 10:17 AM

I heard on a Friday around 11:30am about a week and a half after the interview. And i had all my paperwork done and employment forms back the next day. Haven't done my medical yet but will prob be at DFW. I had some additional things they wanted me to do and they are all done. If you hear from them Friday you will prob make the 23rd class without an issue.

The rumors of the divestiture being called off all grew from this single line in the MEC Chairman's letter to the pilots a few weeks ago, hardly conclusive...

Having said this, information became available on Monday of this week that makes it less likely that the Board will make a decision to divest Eagle at the May 18th meeting.

Tsuda 05-09-2011 07:44 PM

Someone is posting on another web board that ORD chief pilot is saying that divesture is being put on hold. I question if the divesture is going to take place.

isn't amr spending million/s per month on this divestiture according to the union? so a divistiture must be true

why is our union already showing the cards when there is no guarantee yet? i am no expert but don't you make deals after instead of before anything occurs?

Any idea of the age range for the 7 at ORD? Or just the age range in general?

not sure exactly cause us ATR guys get separated. If I were to make an educated guess I would say mid to late 20's.

Aint that da truth.....

CrustyFE 05-11-2011 01:44 PM

Starting to hear rumors about the divestiture being called off too. We'll see.

But even if it is called off, it's never completely off the table.

Interview and Sim

Hello all... long time reader, first time poster. I have an interview coming up with AE, just looking for some more insight on the interview.

Sim Ride: Is it glass or steam gauges. Popular approaches/procedures, pit-falls/other advise for a first time 121 job.

Written/HR/Tech advise?

Any other good place for info to prep with besides gouges on will fly for food/APC, Everything Explained for the pro pilot, ATP 121, ect?

Thanks in advance!

Why yes. Yes it is....

Never on a carrier myself but I did fly in the Navy for 20 years. Occasionally we flew over carriers and some other grey company yachts.

The 65 Rambler taking the CAT shot represents the vehicle I would be allowed to fly off the carrier in my position as a C-130 and 707 flight engineer.

ERJF15 05-11-2011 08:31 PM

Your 130/707 time as TACAMO?

Sabre question

What is the difference between the n4d open time command and the n3d?

In searching for open time to proffer I saw that one command brings up a trip and the other shows the trip but with someone assigned......

Since it's your first post I can't PM you. I can send you all the info you'll need for your interview, if you wanna post your email.

Also, it's a G1000 simulator, if you don't have ANY experience, you'll want to find a sim quick and get some time in.

N927EV 05-12-2011 07:24 AM

N4D shows what is still open and unassigned. N3D shows open time as well, but with who it was assigned to. I just use N4D to proffer.

Were you at ASA?

When I used N4D there was a sequence that was assigned under N3D. I was curious why under one command shows at open and then under N4D itsvopen and unassigned.

shfo 05-12-2011 08:09 AM

Trips can be picked up and swapped multiple times. What is the code next to the trip in the N3D. You are just seeing the history of a sequence as it gets passed between someone and open time. Also do N3DR which will show how the trip became open. I'm guessing the trip you are looking at was assigned to someone with a composite or relief line. If it was under the N3D it will have BO as the code. Then they found a better trip to trade for so under the N3DR you will see TT or OO if they automatically or manually trip traded away. Or if hell froze you'll see a DT for a drop.

coldpilot 05-12-2011 09:01 AM

When I was on reserve I used N3DO to see what was actually open. N4D works too...
