I would much rather be with Eagle in a US Air merger than with like piedmont or even AWAC.

I totally agree. At least Piedmont still whole owned, now AWAC might be a different story.

With Eagle:
-How big are the classes right now?
-How often are classes being held right now?
-New hires are being awarded what base?
-How long on the reserve on base such as DFW?
-Is there commitment and duration you have to sign? If so how long?

Thanks

Small but slowly have been increasing in size. Started around 2 or 3 and last class was 8. Classes are being held every 2 weeks. Most awards are MIA and LGA/JFK CODO.

DFW - good luck, probably most senior base now since LAX is gone. My class was strangely all DFW an that was August '11. Most of us transferred to other bases but those who stayed are the bottom few (ie almost always first to be called, never get the trips they proffer for, etc). Yet people in ORD and LGA/JFK are getting composite and senior reserve lines from my class.

2 year contract if you take the sign on bonus.

Not really.... That's been extended a bunch of times over the last few years..... It is at least beyond 2017 at the earliest...... AWAC also does a great job and is established with what they do for USairways in their key cities..... You have to know more about USairways and the way they run to various cities in NC/SC/GA/TN out of CLT and you would understand a 50 seat jet will most likely be around for a while and the same goes for many cities out of DCA in which AWAC serves.

I somehow screwed up and bid a composite for FEB, never have had one, what do I have to do with it now? do I pick trips up during the normal trip trade window, or do I have to contact scheduling and request stuff

Email swap and drops with your request. i.e 2 days, 4 days, late starts, etc... I would do that now.

also RF 100tran I believe works too.

^what he said, just to add to it....they will make your "line" an hour or two prior to the 48 hour window but AFTER TTOT.

You can email requests, the shorter the email the better. You can make up the entire month in trips if its logical if you want, but they might trim the starts/ends off the trip. Your line value after TTOT is protected for your composite. RSV days pay the 3.xx which is almost 4 hours, and add to the pay protected value. You can TTOT once it opens after the start of the month, but you need to call SCHED every single time you do to have them add the days off back in. You can delete days off in TTOT but you can not add them, only sched can.

I got a comp once with 14 days off not flying, and 3 RSV days. I emailed them all the trips I wanted, it was worth 92 hours, they gave me all the seq I asked for BUT they cut off everything but the over nights on all the 2 day trips and it was worth 60 hours with 3 RSV days. I TTOTd the entire thing and dropped 1 RSV day, I got paid 108 hours that month.

Good luck and refer to the contract, remember for 95% of the month, based on the contract, you are a LINE HOLDER.
