I jumpsat on SKW today and it was one of the best jumpseating experiences I've ever had. Myself along with two uniformed armed servicemen were put up in first class. We had excellent service from two beautiful flight attendants and we even got in a couple of minutes early. Can't ask for much more than that.

Unhappy

I'm almost afraid to ask, but what about Dx-ers? Planning some trips to the bay area in a few months.

The memo has been clarified by UAL Corp. (the originator) to skywest management, and a new memo has been issued. The original memo was to be applied to Flight Attendants ONLY. The inclusion of pilots in the memo is what caused the confusion. The new memo specifically states there are no restricitons on pilots jumpseating (cabin seats, and CASS for cockpit seats) on SkyWest aircraft.

But now the flight attendents can't get to work unless they buy an ID90.

Could a US Airways mainline FA 'jumpseat' on a Skywest UAX flight?

If you're a Skywest pilot, talk to your jumpseat chair about this issue. Protecting the jumpseat for Skywest pilots is his responsibility.

Thanks M for the post.

I hate that FA's get treated so badly. I really don't understand it.

Management doesn't see us as people, they see us as disposable tools, numbers, facts and figures. In some cases a hindrance. There is no consideration as to how new policies or rule changes might affect us. There is only the profits and how to increase them. No matter who is negatively affected. I've read a lot of noble thoughts and intentions on this board. We refer to ourselves as fellow aviators, brothers and sisters. I read the words unity and solidarity. I read phrases such as, let's stand together and let's take our profession back. It's sickening to see how management is not only devoid of this mentality but ignores it and in most cases takes advantage of it. They are poison.
