I was never really naive enough to think that 300 would cause the earth to move. I did, however, think it possible to believe that if Delta was starting to need to hire, then maybe others would as well in the near future. I looked at it as possibly a sign of the times to come.

If majors begin to hire now because of expansion, it is going to be nuts when attrition starts.

Expansion + Age 65 Attrition = Pow

Keep dreamin fellas...............

How much more can the Majors really expand? Take a look at whats going on in the Global Economy, I think the worst is yet to come, especially with the airlines.............

I also think the chances of getting hired at Delta are slim, to say the least. I have ZERO sick time left so that right there disqualifies me , not to mention, I have 0 PIC turbine, didn't come from the Military, blah blah blah.

and there are pleanty of folks that have the qualifications..each person is different. Cutting regional capacity will lead to mainline growth.

Where would the furlough guys fall in the lineup? Would they have first dibs on a class?

Recall guys have first crack at class. That being said, only about 30 out of 300 have shown interest in returning. After them, flow-ups & then off the street.

I for one would prefer to NOT be the worlds largest airline. The title is all yours United. Although we will still have a larger fleet.

If this holds true, it's going to hurt a lot more then just the airlines.

The thing about Greece is that it is not an isolated case. Spain, Ireland and Italy are all heading down that road. Japan is already there. The United States is really close. Look for the problems in Greece to play out all over the world over and over. There is no way that the US and all these other contries can pay off their debt without making some really difficult decisions. I expect things to get worse also.
