There have been some posts floating around that the last class had a few new hires go to IAH. Typically it goes pretty senior. Right now I think there are some (before new hire classes) that were getting awarded it around 1.5-2 years).

I never wanted IAH so I havent kept tabs.

I know for CA, IAH is at 3 years 4 months for the most junior non street CA

But then again the most junior non street CA in the company is 3 years 2 months so I guess it is senior????

There are 44 FOs in IAH. The top 19 are 07 hires. The next 15 are 08 hires. The bottom 10 are 2010 hires.

Not sure that answers your question

That break down helps a lot actually. Doesn't get any more specific than that thanks!

So what happens when you make captain? Is it back to the bottom of a seniority list again which means you are probably moving to a junior base again?

You can bid for captain in a specific base, but it may take longer to upgrade. Most bid for captain in all bases. So yes, you'll be back at the bottom of the CA list, and probably in a junior base.

And that raises the eternal question: Is it better to be the #1 FO, get any line you wish, and live in base (or have an easy commute); or be THE junior CA, on reserve Thursday through Monday, have a three leg commute, and take home about $10k more?

Ooops, I forgot to add a crash pad. So your take home will still be $10k, but your net will be $6-8k.

Well since PIC is the way out of Colgan and being "junior" is not forever at Colgan, I chose upgrade and get the time.

Plus at Colgan it is all about the luck of timing. I always was able to hold a line as an FO and I am able to hold a line as a junior CA.

Anyone heard anything from the 8/12 interview class date wise? I was told expect 9/21 Saab in IAD, but that was about 2 weeks ago. Not a peep since.

As far as I know, which isn't much, they are doing one class for Saab and one class for Q per month for the forseeable future. I am pretty sure the Saab class for Sept is on the 7th and no clue when the Q class is. So the 21st class might be a Q class. Also, when they say Saab IAD, it isn't necessarily true they last couple classes have had a couple outstation bases up for bidding along with IAD and IAH. I also heard that IAD was getting full for now until more FO's from there upgrade so it really can be any base on the Saab and if not in training then within a couple months you can hold almost any base of your choosing....

Just interviewed and made it through to the drug test/finger printing portion. I've heard that if you make it that far, you're pretty much in. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?
