You won't be assigned 2,3,4 day trips. You will be on reserve.

Re-read your post, and see if you can find your error.
You want ALL 74 pax aircraft mainline. Good.
But beyond, that your are making the same mistake* earlier mainliners have made: you are not fighting to have EVERY aircraft with ANY seats flown by a mainline pilot.
*Maybe it wasn't a mistake. Maybe they were just too proud to fly little puddle jumpers.[/quote]
You are absolutely correct, I do believe all flying should be on one certificate with one company per paint job. NO SUBCONTRACTING.
Taking the 70 plus seat range back to mainline is just the first bite of the elephant. In my opinion every thing with a certificate holders paint or ticket should be flown by that certificate holders pilots and worked on by that certificate holders mechanics.

Not necessarily. I know a few FO's at outstation bases who are holding lines right out of training. Those that went to hub bases are on reserve, however.
Keep in mind your mileage may vary depending on how many were hired before you and how many come in after you and where you are based.

You're going to be on reserve, which is 10 days off (and they can juniorman you below the 10 days, but I'm not sure how frequently that happens). Then they're probably going to use you a lot, so they might activate you for any mix of day trips to working 6 days straight. No one can predict how many days you might get back to back. It might only be 2 in a row, or you might get lucky once in a while and get 4. Within the past few months I've seen some new FOs get sweeter schedules (more credit AND many more days off) than the "senior" lines, by bidding build-up lines... but that of course is luck of the draw. Mostly I hear the reserve is terrible.

not sure but two friends who got hired here on the saab are flying the line right now as lineholders, and we hear of more flying to come for the saabs in dc.
the q side will def be reserve until houston opens up, then lineholders will increase again soon when new planes hit the ground.

BHB used to be one of the most senior bases. In fact, I believe the number 1 or 2 captain is there now. But, obviously it must be junior on the FO side.

Thanks for the insight guys.
A Buildup line, meaning just open, unscheduled?
BHB would be great, learn a lot from those captains. Plus that place just seems gorgeous. Might get bored but at least it's bored in a nice place.

No matter where you are in the system, routes will get routine (if not boring). Just remember, this is a job. Even wh#res get tired of scr$wing.
