Press release says they don't want to be associated as just a Delta regional anymore... it says they want to be industry leaders. Is it me or does it seem like ASA is doing better than their parent company.

I see a different logo on their website, and the full Atlantic Southeast Airlines name rather than ASA. Still looking for bigger news if any.....

It's been said that they want to be the first super regional airline. Flying 500 airplanes to all 50 states...
|
FYI:
If you haven't see the Comair thread Trailblazer is just a troll. |
They are looking to fly 500 aircraft, to all 50 states, with a projected 50 million/year load.
The specifics of all this, which of course is what really matters, was not disclosed in the least. No word as to any acquisitions, mergers etc. This whole thing a big PR event with glittering generalities, aside from the 500/50/50 deal. I'd like to know how much they paid for the whole project runway stage setup. Yes, they actually set up a stage with employees modeling the new f/a uniforms. What a waste, oh, IMO the new logo reminds me of Cessna's logo. |

That new website looks like a big joke. Did anybody watch that video? Super cheesy!

The new logo is the love child of the US Coast Guard and Cessna. It vaguely reminds me of the old Northwest logo, and even incorporated the old Northwest "bowling shoe" paint job.
50/500/50... yeah, ok. As Austin Powers says "I'd like a toilet made out of solid gold, but it's just not in the cards, baby... yeah". As for them spending all this money to make a meaningless corporate logo and vision change... I say Whoop-T-Freaking-Do. Since ASA has such deep pockets, we'll see you at the negotiating table. Expect "real" news towards the end of the summer. It's looking more and more like acquiring the assets of Comair and Mesa, followed by a merger/acquisition with Mesaba and Compass. |
Code share 100 seat flying is all the rage these days!
