I have to say that is the funniest thing I've heard all day, tell me why Delta would sell one of the best performing regionals in XJ...the stats don't lie, XJ and CZ are always in the top 5 with completion factor and ontime performance...just don't see why Delta would get rid of a good thing here...
personally I think the rebranding is because when people used to see that ASA logo on the side of an RJ coming towards the gate it always represented a late arrival or departure...this gives em a fresh start? |
Tony;
Yep, and those 76 seat jets would be a great carrot to use to renegotiate the FFD contracts that SKW and ASA have. If not that, then 2 for 1 on a ton of 50 seat jets. Lot of you are hearing something is up, I am just giving a guess. Markets improving and DAL wants to get out of the WO business. None of that is secret. |

Keep in mind who "they" are too. Are you referring to "They" the company, or "They," the faction within the union who wanted to get rid of Compass? |

Nice theory, but the flow remins in effect with whoever buys Compass. Because of that, by keeping them in house, Delta can control the interviewing and hiring process.

Um not if the jets are awarded somewhere else and the certificate is not transferred. It is very gray at best. Read the LOA. It is in the DALPA file library. They are referenced in the PWA. LOA 2006-10 and 12 and one in 2008.
It states in the LOA the flow becomes unavailable, and it does not state how, so there may be some interpretation that needs to be done. It also will go back to the negotiators notes for the intention of the wording. I would venture to bet that dissolving the carrier was not one of their intentions behind that wording. Of course this could be way off, and they just sell them so that they can give ASA pilots a flow too. |

Hmmm... Interesting. When I google "SkyWest Inc" the first two links lead to the SkyWest Airlines website, the third is the Wikipedia article that states: "The following is strictly personal conjecture and may have no basis in fact as per the wikipedia bylaws." ;)

I love all these guys talking on behalf of delta management without any source.
I will tell you I spoke 1 on 1 with the man in charge of compass crew planning and delta DOES like the flow. They intend to keep it and that is why they have now taken over half of the interview process at compass. Compass interviews will consist of a written and cog test in ATL and an HR interview in MSP. |
