confused about this ASA thing
First off, congrats on your new logo and rumours of world domination - seriously its nice to have positive vibes at work, we havent had anything positive in years here at pinnacle.
I am just so confused as to what is going on here. You have a new website, logo, and press release yet there is nothing on the main skywest website saying anything about anything of this. 500 aircraft flying to all 50 states - this is a ton of aircraft. Plus Skywest has a ton of aircraft and they also fly for United and Delta. Skywest also owns you and I am trying to be realistic here. It was my understanding that ASA was owned by Skywest therefore ASA could not purchase anyone on their own. Where does Skywest fit into all of this? Are you guys merging under the Atlantic Southeast name? Not bashing anyone or anything but just reading all of this to an outsider it seems impossible unless there are mergers or aquisitions involved, and its hard to believe Atkins would let Skywest just sit there and watch all this without any growth on their side. Anyways, good luck with whatever happens. Maybe you could aquire us |
Its a new corporate image and a corporate goal. That is all. 50/50/500 thing is just a vision to move the airline forward. There is no other information aside from that, unfortunately. No acquisitions on the horizon as far as anyone knows, no aircraft orders, no news of pilot recalls, zilch. As far as where SkyWest fits with this...it seems to be that ASA, oops, Atlantic Southeast Airlines management is trying to disassociate us from SkyWest to create two distinct brands within the SkyWest, INC umbrella. Just a guess. Aside from that, SkyWest is not involved with any of this rebranding stuff. Hope that helps.

SkyWest has the stronger name and will never be phased out for the ASA brand.
Currently SKW Inc has over 450 a/c and operates in all 48 mainland states. I have no idea how they would ever make it into Alaska or Hawaii. I agree with RamenNoodles, two completely separate airlines. We at SKW never hear the name ASA mentioned from Mgmnt unless it's in a financial report. |

Great, another "regional" trying to grow by replacing more mainline flying, adding new aircraft, scooping up other companies with the same 'ole crappy pay attached with it. How exciting:rolleyes:

It looks to me like SkyWest is getting ready to dump the ASA division and is hoping to hype it up so someone will pay them for it instead of just shutting it down.
