Default RHA Pilot Pool

He guys and gals....New to the site.

Interviewed with RHA a week or so ago and was selected to the pool. Any idea of how big the pool is and if you are preselected for a specific AC or you are given a date on what is needed and if E-170 pilots are needed and you have the hours you are sent there.

Any idea on how often classes are held for both AC. I believe the 44 CO flights are to cover the DL 44 that were lost (AC that is)

Its RAH, not RHA. Some that interviewed just 2 weeks ago got Aug 3rd start dates on the 145. ATP mins for the 170. the CO flying has nothing to do with DL. CHQ didnt lose any DL planes. CHQ has been doing alot more CVG flying. first 20 CO planes are going to be from the USairways side. RAH traded 20 usairways 145's for 30 175s. (net gain of 10 planes on the Usairways side). Yet to be announced is how we are going to fill the 24 remaining airplanes. Either way its a total net gain of 34 airplanes.

I interviewed a few weeks ago and got the aug 3rd 145 class and have ATP mins+, does anyone know how they determine which a/c you get. I heard through someone that someone in the training dept said that the 170 class scheduled mid Aug was being cancelled and moved closer to the first of the year. anyone else heard this

I think you meant closer to the early august... according to linda, she places people in class based upon operational need. the next few months is gonna be crazy for her (due to growth) and many time she has only a few days to get a class filled. That is why she likes the pool deep (although already getting shallow).

serveral factors...

First, do you need 2 weeks notice or can you start right away. Most 121 guys will need that 2 weeks notice. The Aug 3rd class came up with less than 2 weeks to notify pilots. So, she called the ones with Immediate status on their resume. Several guys from the July interview was called before me (June 15th). I was like what the heck... but then i realized i put 2 weeks notice.

Also, she has been calling a lot of furloughs (TSA, Mesaba, flyi) first. Which is understandable.

Second, if you have ATP flight mins, you have a good chance to be in the 170. But doesn't mean you won't get the 145. The new minimums for both a/c is now 1500 and 300, but i think she has been a little loose with that with the recent announcement of growth. But for the 170, ATP mins is a must. I dont think the ATP written is required though... just the flight times.

I've seen majority of 121 guys get the 170 in comparison to the 135 or cfi's.

Some care which a/c they get. I for one don't. I just preferred a base so I don't have to commute. Linda said, lately she has been getting a few calls from pilots trying the change their class date. Specifically wanting to get a Shuttle of Repubic class. Well, she doesn't like that b/c she has to find someone else on short notice. Unless you got a good reason, you should take the first class offered. Senority is everything.

There is a small shuttle class August 8th. Don't know anything about the later class getting moved up...

Hope this helps...

As for me I interviewed June 15th and been offered the August 8th shuttle class.

July was a busy month for 170 training for both companies. August is quite different, only two Republic crews on the schedule now, and they'll finish by the 10th.

We're expecting September to get busy again.

It has more to do with Republic's needs and your availability. I listed myself as avilable immediately. I have 3800 hours, an ATP and 121 experience, I got the 145 on Aug. 3. Which is fine with me. Better (more) base choices with CHQ. My advice is take the first class Linda offers. Senority is everything (the shape of the airplane is meaningless) and you want to get in at the beginning of alot of hiring, not at the end.

Good Luck!
