Just to add my $.02 ...

I agree 100% that the Q's will more than likely not be going to IAH anymore. If they were, management would not have come out with a memo that, in a nutshell said, "Rumor spreading regarding the Q's not coming to IAH anymore ... Meeting with Co-nited this Friday ... Update to come soon". They would have simply said, "this is rumor, they will still be coming to IAH" end of story.

I figured when the Co-nited merger happened it could literally change everything. We (9L) are one of the only regionals (yes, there are a few others) that operates almost exclusively for both airlines (yes, USAirways is there too, but not a huge competitor). So, they could pretty much rearrange our entire route system if they wanted to with us being the only operator of the Q-400 aircraft for both airlines.

I'll be very interested to see what comes of this next week!!

The Spirit guys understand there is an over abundance of pilots and the idea of there ever being a pilot shortage is a joke. They are taking a stand to get better wages. The regional guys still think a pilot shortage will come(I would rather believe in the great pumpkin) and are not willing to stand up for themselves. That is why wages and QOL are so much worse at the regional level.

I still chuckle when I think the about the last MESA contract. I think there was 400 of us who voted no and were willing to stand up to management but the rest who voted yes just wanted to get there time and move onto a major where life will be better...The problem is that majors pay and QOL are getting worse because regional pilots are lowering the bar for everyone.

Yeah, unfortunately the first few Qs will be going to EWR, and most like no service out of IAH. I ran into a couple mgmt people in MEM friday. The day of meeting, and they didnt say exactly. But this is mostly likely scenario

Milk Man,
I remember you not so long ago gleefully stating in a seperate thread

"I hope OKC! OH and I wonder how many FURLOUGHED XJET guys are gonna throw their resume towards Colgan when we start hiring for these Qs??"

I guess I can keep my job at XJT a little longer before I have to throw my resume in at Cogan

It's amazing to me that other regionals think they are better than everybody else. We all are the same and always will be unless WE ALL work together and build a better future. If we don't we are playing into the airline management plan. Skidmark you are right PNCl has made in my opinion worse at 9e.

PS. Regionals should be 500 miles and less. If more you are in the major routes stealing their jobs.

How bout putting the regional limit at the 350-400 mile range they had back when they all ran props.

Well I do still believe that we are still getting the same amount of planes, just not the original plan of IAH.

And my apologies.
