message to mesaba pilots

Definitely. There are always some people who would rather gamble on their "airline" being picked for some new flying and consequently getting the upgrade quicker, or whatever.

Is there any requirement in any of the 3 airlines contracts to have one seniority list? If not, why would Pinnacle ever agree to one seniority list if they see it as an advantage to have 3 seperate airlines to manuever as they please?

I think the story would be different if PCL had a current contract. With the recent purchase of XJ and PCL stating the jets will be going to be flown under the PCL umbrella even if there is 2 contracts they will mirror each other. Why would the PCL pilots not hold out for a better contract. Remember the pilots follow the planes. So if PCL threatens to transfer the planes to XJ, what contract are they now going to work under. Of course that may not be the way it's going to happen but it is a positive way to think how it's going to go.

I know that most if not all of you are upset by this decision, I don't blame you but i wanted to say that I have a lot of respect for you and look forward to working with you in the future. I think that we can be a strong group going forward. We share a common bond that we are both former airlinkers and have the same bases. We have the ability to make this something good in the future. I know that you are losing your flow and your benifits and I don't have an answer for that - it sucks no doubt about it. I believe we need to fairly integrate the seniority lists of all three of our companies and work on a joint contract that will protect all of our interests going forward. PNCL Corp has two airplanes that are in demand in the 900 and the q400. If they have to be flown at a regional instead of a major then lets fly them together and be compensated well for it. I believe that you can help our pilots in getting a contract with your experience. I also believe your good safety record can help our company as well. I plan on going to your crew bases and introducing myself to you guys and i hope some more of my pinnacle co workers will as well. Its going to be tough at first, there will be rumors spread about what is going to happen, there will be tools at both places who don't know how to handle this kind of situation, and there will be pressure from management but if our unions can work together towards a common goal at all 3 airlines - then we can keep the good tradition of your name and continue to build a better one at ours.
I completely agree though. We as ONE group need to unite together under ONE contract, under ONE union. We already know they plan to operate the Jets under one name, and the Turboprops under another. That does not matter. What matters is that we all work together to make this a better place to work for everyone, present and future!
I look forward to working with all of you!
