It think that's what this guy is getting at. His airline shuts us down then he decides to criticize one of our crews when he couldn't understand how anyone could possibly take off when there is windshear. It's call PIC discretion.

He didn't say there was. Just that four airplanes took off when advisories were in effect. He didn't mention who everyone else was, beside him.
And yes actually, I have seen 5,500fpm out of the Q, and that was WITHOUT going into overtravel. Definitely, don't want to actually need that climb rate but it has it. If there is reported 90 kt shear I'm not going to try it, I'm going somewhere else.

Oh we definitely had one. I just don't remember what it was. Either way it comes down to PIC discretion. If there is windshear we have every right to NOT go.

Default LLWS vs Microburst

I've never heard a Microburst warning issued, although I was in one and watched the hangar roof get peeled off like a can of tuna.

Question - does the tower issue MB alerts, or is it calculated from the LLWS boundary wind differences by the crew?

Thanks!

FlyandDive,

No, I am not criticizing the crew that operated that day or your company. We are 1 company so why would I pick on Lynx pilots?? That is immature and I wouldn't do that.

I am sorry for what is currently happening to Lynx but I'm sure you understand that you nor I have no control over that. I just show up and fly planes. Just wanted to know your procedures for such an event and that is all. My intention was not to slam your pilot group. If it came across that way, I apologize.

Have a nice weekend.

Get them all the time at MEM, tower issues them with the Doppler radar

No worries, apology accepted, unfortunately given the circumstances it's hard for stuff like that posted on an anonymous web forum to not be taken as a slam, and sorry, considering I have been flipped off a few times while taxing I can not over or under estimate the maturity level of ANY pilot group.

By the way nice paint scheme:
