MSP base has been the same size (pilot wise) for the last two years...

Skywest and Comair have a greater presents in MSP, MSP pairing have flying through the other midwest/east coast bases.

i guess we've just been hearing other stuff over at XJ, because awhile back there was talk of them even closing MSP as a pilot base and making it a focus city for 9E, but you know how that train gets a rollin...

What is the make up of MSP right now? How many Captain's and F/O's and where do their most senior and junior pilots preside on the list?

Something like:
131 CA's and 120 FO's

Estimates:
Most Junior CA - Summer 06
Most Junior FO - Summer/Fall 08

Well there probably was something to it when all the pilots thought we were opening a jfk/lga base (still might, just using it for the example). MSP pinnacle hours were shrinking so msp pilots were deadheading or transitioning all over the place to begin their trip. Most pilots thought that spelled the doom of msp and everyone thought it was because we were opening up a base in ny.

Delta has mentioned that it wanted to serve NYC with aircraft offering 1st class service and 9E has been rumoring over a base there for a while. Looks like if you want to keep wearing your epaulets upside down you might have to move east.

What is the point of this statement? Not only is it speculation and the idea of throwing guys under the bus there actually ARE a good number of folks who already live in/around NYC interested in the base. The shots across the bow of groups is doing nothing but getting both sides upset- which accomplishes absolutely NOTHING. Whether anyone likes it or not all of us are under the same umbrella- what is accomplished by antagonizing what should be "allies".

Yes I agree, I foresee that the 900 flying will be in ATL, JFK, LGA, and SLC. I see the DTW 900 base closing as well as the MEM one. MSP may have a few 900's but very little. Many XJ pilots will probably quit when this happens.

You really think so? Seems pretty drastic just because their base goes away. That's part of the biz.
