You guys...can't you see d'angelo is just pulling your leg? There is no way anyone could be serious about what he just said!!!

I hope not, but I've never flown for an airline so I can't speak from experience...just what I've read and heard.

D'angelo,

I don't think you speak for the CMR pilots. I have the feeling you were not around for the strike, you are fairly new, and you're a yes voter.

I am concerned about the pilot group. This group needs to have the same backbone it did in 2001. Those of us who fought then, are ready to fight again.

We also hope that the RJ drivers elsewhere will fight for our profession. Sadly, many RJ drivers are willing to work for peanuts under the promise of an upgrade and the "possibility" of a move to the majors.

Just so we are clear...this was my full statement:

However, i would never agree to give up my right to a job action, putting my trust in the company to bargain in good faith.

I am absolutely serious. Arbitration all the way. Obviously you are way too scared to try new things. Why are you so afraid of the future? The one constant thing in humanity is change. So lets see here a 20 year contract with COLA/industry standard wages every 4 years or union drama every 4 years with a contract after 3-4 years negotiations. Ummm yea you get a better deal with arbitration. The problem with pilots is they can't think outside the box. They are so trapped inside the ALPA box. Don't worry ALPA is just management like everyone else. Be not afraid to think outside the box.

I most certainly do speak for Comair pilots. Well the majority anyway. We the majority voted for paycuts. It doesn't matter what happened in the past that was 5 years ago. What matters now is its the present and its time to take paycuts then live it up. What is there to fight for? we all already make decent wages. Trust me make the lady get a job and you too can live it up.

Hmmm...now something about that is just too "oxymoronic" for me. Im not a Comair pilot or any airline pilot...yet. But I have talked to quite a few of them. I find it extremely hard to believe that this is the concensus of a pilot group that shut down the company and walked for 3 months to get a better contract.

I will give you this one, but give up your power to arbitration is nuts. I have been apart of 2 companies with unions, 1 avation and 1 non-aviation. I have mixed feelings when it comes to unions. I think they are a necessary evil. Remember, the union is a business also.

I completely agree. The sad part is that it is hard to fight one at a time. For5 years, we have been standing at the top waving our *****, or whatever, and now the knife is near. Someone else has got to take a stand as well. Sounds to me like the ASA guys and gals just might be doing that right now as well!!
