Default Recall vote for ASA's LEC

If you have an issue with ASA's LEC or just want a chance to vote on who your reps are please come to the next LEC meeting. These reps were elected by a vote that had the lowest ever pilot participation. This next year is going to define the future of ASA for years to come. If you didn't vote for your pilot reps don't you want a chance to make your voice heard? If you do go to the next LEC meeting and join with the rest of us in voting for a recall election. This doesn't prevent the current reps from running again so if you like one or two of them they can be elected again. This recall just lets the entire pilot group get a voice in who will represent them in this career critical time.

You've got to be kidding. The reason for the recall is because voter turnout was low when the Reps got elected? GMAB, that's some lame shnitz.

If you read this with a Spanish accent and visualize the World cup trophy in your head, it all makes sense.

Someone is mad that he or one of his friends didn't get a seat on the merger committee.

Senor Quixote,

I can't think of a more divisive tactic now that you're actually in a merger and with an open book coming. This has got to be one of the lamest posts I've read on this board.

Great job...tilt at each other rather than at the external threats.

The only thing I want to know is who the F was asleep at the wheel or allowed EF to be on the Merger Committee ? In no way shape or form does this horrible, horrible person represent me or our pilot group as a whole.

Disagree.

I have worked with Ed extensively in ALPA business. Ed sat for about 10 years (along with Lance, btw) on the System Board of Adjustment. (That's who handles grievance arbitrations). Ed always did what was in the best interest of the pilot he was working for, and never let his personal opinion sway him. I witnessed this first hand. Ed is also second to none at convincing arbitrators to see things his way. He will be an excellent addition to the committee. I personally lobbied extensively for him to be on it.

Regarding Ed's reputation, like most reputations, it is bigger than reality. How many times have you flown with him? I flew with him often when I was an FO. While Ed is lacking in CRM and people skills, all he really expects of you is to shut up, quit whining, and do your job to 100% of its description in the manual. He has no tolerance for anyone who doesn't do this or who slacks off. I never had a problem with him, because I knew to be on my toes when I flew with him. Those that do have a problem with him either need to grow a thicker skin, or quit their whining and do their job. And he is COMPLETELY different outside of the cockpit. He's actually a funny, smart, and engaging guy. But when he's at work, it's all business. That's fair in my opinion.

Congrats on your opinion, you're completely entitled to it. I only hope it works out in the end game and if in this case you say he is right for the job then I have to put some faith in that. No, i've not yet flown with him and I don't mind either way who I fly with but he's made life a living hell for great pilot friends of mine who are complete professionals and i've no respect for someone who makes what we do a job.

So EF is one to be trusted huh?

Guess we'll have to talk about this in person Tony.

Surprisingly, he was taking charge of a group that was actually working to set up the furlough cobra fund independent of the union. He did a great job communicating, thanking participation and was not part of the vocal group screaming at the union about the assessment. I haven't flown with him either but he won a lot of respect from me on because of his personal efforts for the furloughees.
