quickest upgrades

Who has them?

Spoilers 09-08-2010 05:38 AM

Times of quick upgrades and moving on the majors in a few years are long gone. And because people were chasing upgrade time is how we got stuck with these crappy payrates.

Dunno....whichever one will furlough you at the soonest opportunity.

American Eagle and US Airways. Especially US Airways. Go ask the 20+ year F/Os how that upgrade is just around the corner. Not a very different story at Eagle.

What kind of question is this? Really?

The most junior upgrade at my company is probably about 3 years and sitting on RSV and being abused every day.

No one.

Pick a carrier with pay rates and a contract you are willing to live with for a long time. It appears regional flying is taking a hit as things are being downsized and consolidated. Don't expect a quick upgrade at and then to move on from any regional in the near term future.

When hiring picks up at the mainline carriers you can expect regional flying to continue shrinking, particularly if UCAL gets scope under control.

If you are looking for PIC perhaps you should seek out some single pilot 135 operation. That is about the only place you will find a quick upgrade.

That's an easy one: Cape Air.

Ameriflight's a decent place to get turbine PIC if that's what you're after and you have 1200 TT. Just be careful, 135 freight flying will kill you if you give it half a chance.

The FBO down the street from you will put you in the left seat of their Cessna 152 as soon as you start flying with them. Only problem is it's pay for training. Also it's pay for flying.

Compass. Simply because of the number of pilots they have vs number of pilots able to flow to DAL on a yearly basis. I dont know about additional airframes, but that always helps.

This might be good advice. The flow agreement is set and odds are there will be a lot of it.
