I heard that ASA was going to offer these open seats to the express jet furloughed pilots. Is that still going on? Does anyone know when the next class starts?

6 guys were interviewed today(tech/written exams/HR) with everyone making it to tomorrow morning for the Simulator(CRJ-700). The recruiter(D.R.) told my buddy today that they're scrambling to fill this Nov 1st class next week of 24-25 guys. Not sure about the Expressjet guys anymore.

Times ranged from around 1,000 to over 8 or 9,000(ages 24-50 "ish") today. A few guys were also hanging around from Monday who had interviewed as well and shared their stories, etc.

ExpressJet recalled all furloughs. Everyone hired now at ASA will be off the street. Next class is Nov 1. After that , rumor is sometime in January.

First class is in Gen Ops with phase checks on Friday. Sims will start next week for them. There are 24 (I think), all XJet furloughs, and I think that 4 are CRJ200 IAD, the rest CRJ200 ATL.

Second class started Systems this week. Phase check is November 12 and Sims start on November 15th. 25 in this class. One is a requal CRJ700 ATL coming back from medical, 4 are CRJ200 IAD, and 20 are CRJ200 ATL. 3 of these are the last XJet furloughees.

Next class is supposed to start Basic Indoc on Monday.

We have seen pilots at the front desk waiting for interviews most days this week and last week, so it appears that the interviews are still going strong.

I haven't read all the pages here in this thread......So is ASA controlling the hiring for ExpressJet(if they hire) also? I know they merged but I'm new to the merger scene.

No, ExpressJet is still controlling their own hiring. ASA had some vacancies and offered them to XJT furloughed guys before hiring off the street.
