ASA interview leads to big questions.

Like everyone has said on here, it's a crap shoot as to what will happen. I went to work for ASA back in 1984. I made a whopping 13k a year on the SD3-60(for those of you too young to remember, it was a box with wings and 2 turbo-props). About 3 months after being there I was on a tour of ATL Center...The guy giving us a tour offered myself and another ASA pilot a job starting at 40K....we both looked at one another and said , Naw...we are flying airliners with a cute girl bringing us all the cokes we want. Really dumb move....We would both be nearing retirement, thats right..RETIREMENT!!! with a salary well into the 6 figures and a GOVERNMENT RETIREMENT.... I made Capt at ASA and then left for a major in 87. I'm still an F/O with said "major" after 23+ years, oh, and did I mention....NO RETIREMENT!!!! Don't go to ASA. Stay put, if you're determined to go fly an airliner, then you have time to do it later, but it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Good luck to you and I hope everything works out for the best. Oh, and btw, take a look at ATC, they are really in need of people and you WILL make enough there to be able to afford your own airplane to fly whenever you want!!!
