I get what you're saying and I'm usually not one to point out simple errors but a quick proofread only takes a second.

For every SKW internet tough guy there's an XJT tough guy to go along with him. Plus one from ASA, MAG, 9E, etc.

I love the pi$$ing match. We are all being forced around, some will benefit most will not. Uncle United will do with us as he pleases within mainline scope and it’s up to current mainline pilots to prevent it as it was them and their past brethren who approved/allowed this shedding of flying. Just remember that none of this flying is ours as it belongs to mainline. In the near future others will follow SKW with changes, lives will be disrupted, bases will close and open as more flying is moved around.

If XJT or ASA ends up in SFO, LAX or DEN; welcome! I'll buy the first round (even Slappy), now let’s all merge so the whipsawing can end.

I dig it MatchPoint.

Truly, the idea of warring against each other is a bit ignorant and wont get us anywhere.

Unity and communication will be the fix.

Sadly, as has been proven in any industry or religion, there are a few {EDITED} who will never get it and are so egocentric that they remain blinded from the larger picture.

P.S. dig ur avatar MatchPoint...damn sexy!

[REMOVED FLAMEBAIT]

I'd have to agree that this is a pure and simple management decision and nothing else. You're right, this is not "OUR" flying and it never will be.

We have "enjoyed" for that past few years very little movement in this industry and crewmembers I've flown with lately have set up roots in their said domiciles. Now the industry is moving and merging, multiple domicile changes and a lot of just general uncertainty. I know, que, "Welcome to the Airline Industry" here. The fact is in our little world, Skywest v. ExpressJet, our fleet allocation decisions and heck, even the coffee cup brand we carry on the airplane are all based soley on what Mama and Papa United wants. That's the way it has always been.

Also, I think a jumpseat war is a very bad idea. Many of us may have the sobering reality in view of having to commute to new domiciles in the future. (ex-CAL/United) Lets not make it harder on each other to make a living. I jumped a lot on Skywest to MSP in the past and they are first class peeps. First class when they had the room and never an ill word about XJT. I love my fellow XJT'ers and I know we have eaten a lot of $hit sandwiches and washed them down with poop punch in the past due to pi$$ poor market conditions and equally poor management decisions. That does not make Skywest our enemy. Crewmembers showing other Crewmembers respect will get all of us through this. Remember, these are management, not line pilot decisions.

FWIW... I used to do LAX and DEN to IAH in a 700. Didn't seem to be an issue. Suddenly, it's a big deal. Curious...

Airline management are like D.C. politicians. Always distracting us with B.S. so we don't focus on the real issues.

That's because it was previously just done under the United banner. Now SKYW is replacing CAL and XJT routes with a 70 seat aircraft.

This is a clear violation of CAL scope - therefore CAL guys are pi-ssed.

XJT will be having a HUGE reduction in the size of IAH because of this. XJT guys will be displaced to ORD - therefore XJT guys are pi-ssed.

And by the looks of it at SkyWest, they will be forcing over 160 pilots to go to IAH and probably around a 100 to MSP. Not a whole lot are interested in transferring, so they'll be forced out of ORD, DEN and SLC. Very few are happy about it here either.

SKW will reduce the size of ORD, SLC and DEN with SBA closing and 100's of crewmembers will be displaced to IAH - therefore most all SKW guys/gals are pi$$ed.

There, I helped correct your tunnel vision. I also removed "XJT routes" as they do not have any routes since they belong to CAL errrr UAL. Also remember that XJT will be back filling SKW in ORD and DEN.

Yeah, this is not really anything new for UAX.

you won't allow a jumpseater who MIGHT be commuting on your plane??
are you crazy?? I sure Hope you live at a domicile or near a Major HUB for your company because IF you try THAT as a Tactic?? If you fly for a mejire OR a regional you'll LIVE near the domicile you're working from!!
Think of the bigger pictire Suse. Isin't there Already enough scrutiny over the Golgan Crash over the pilots NOT living at domicile?? How many of YOU commute?
