Lightbulb EMB 120 pilot future???

Hi all,

I will be flying the Brasilia pretty soon and I would like to know how far I can jump once I get 1000hours PIC on this plane. For example: can I hope for southwest,Fedex or any other good major with Brasilia PIC under my belt? Where are all of the SkyWest people going after they do their time with SkyWest?

Thank you

I think once you get that kind of time, you will have pick of Southwest, Fedex, or CAL.

No you don't need the 1000 PIC. I think soon as you get the EMB120 type that should suffice to get you an interview at the above three airlines.

Last I heard, SWA required a minium of 1300 Turbine PIC, with 1800 being competitive. I'm certain UPS & FEDEX still want 1000 TPIC.

Some other airlines don't require the PIC, but it certainly makes you more competitive. CAL usually requires an internal reference to get an interview.

Definately wrong..... Buddy of mine is a 121 CA with over 8000 hours and several thousand hours of 121 PIC in both the SF340 and CRJ.... Had a SWA interview and still didnt get selected.. (didnt have the 73 type though) from what he told me only 3 out of the 18 people he interviewed with got selected (all mil guys)... All the guys I have known that have gone to Fed Ex have all had about 2K 121 Pic or more, many of them check amn. The only airline that I have heard of FO's with no 121 PIC getting in to is CO.... But all of the FO's that have done that were either former interns or knew somebody that could get them an interview.... (in fact heard of one guy at ZV who was a 1900 FO go strait to 737 FO at CO, former intern) Hope that helps answer the question
