So I hear they are giving out Feb classes now...

Where is everyone staying for training? The good ol' pear tree or does the hilton have a good rate for those not based outside of STL??

The Pear Tree quoted me $66 ish per night when I called about a month ago. Hope there are better options than that for you. Though that isn't a bad price for a hotel nowadays, that would add up in a hurry.

I thought everybody that was furloughed was based in IAD? Everybody through the jan 30th class will be put up in either the Hilton or the Hilton garden inn. I am in the first class and they are providing shelter at the hilton. They also just sent me the GOM, SOP, and a AFM.
If thier is anybody else in the first class I am really hopping we can start a study group, I could really use it!!

Guys furloughed on July 1 and Aug 30 2008 were STL based when the AX came down.

I thought the GOM and SOP were SSI and couldn't be shared without passing the background check. If they're giving those out they might as well give your ID back and you can just jumpseat out to STL for the fingerprint day.

Would be cool.....that would save me a week in a hotel and postpone my 2100 mile drive.

Not that I don't like the drive.....it just sucks a little more in the winter time.

If you were based in IAD or RIC when you got furloughed they will put you up and fly you to STL for fingerprints and then for class. By the time all STL furloughs get a class date I think enough of us will be in STL that you can ask about a crash pad so don't pay the $66 for a regular hotel.

Here is my question. For those that were furloughed before the opening of the IAD base, and were STL based at the time of their furlough... Where do you think those guys/gals will be based after upon returning?

I have asked around, and 2 people in management told me not to be surprised if we stay STL based. I hope they are right, but I have a feeling we are going to IAD.

With RIC closing end of Jan, and the 3 planes coming for Airways in March, I wouldn't be surprised if STL is the bigger domicile.
