Anyone know which base they're awarding? I'm assuming for most of us.

Rumor is whatever you bid for you are gonna get... But I suspect they are wanting most of us in STL to support the Airways stuff.

I got my manuals in the mail, and I'm wondering where to start. Any news from the class that went in on what to expect? The brevity of the training has everyone a little nervous.

To paraphrase from Christmas Vacation...

Waterski Recall: Him's nervous because the oral and checkride are almost here.

Check Airman: Nervous or excited?

WR: Sh*ttin bricks.

CA: You shouldn't use that word.

WR: Sorry, sh*ttin rocks.

CA: That's better.

I'm in a mid feb class and im studyin everyday right now, have been for 2 weeks. I'm showin up Day 1 ready for the oral. Anybody who is counting on the "training" department to get us ready in 3 days is wackier than I thought.

I think what you're trying to say is don't expect any training from TSA training. The only real training that I got at TSA was during the checkride.

RZ is back in action. New guy (KS) from Comair took the DO slot.

Start in Systems. Get to know it front to back, focus on the important pieces (e.g. powerplant, apu, electrical, etc.). Know your limitations and memory items before you show up, you will have very little time to learn them here.

First day is basic stuff and a hazmat test. So, look that portion of your GOM over. Second day is doors training, more review, no test. And third day is systems fast and furious followed by a test which includes but is not limited to FARs, AIM, GOM, Systems, Winter Ops.

If you study before you get here, you'll be fine. After ground school, you need to dive straight into the SOP and prepare for the checkride.
