If AMR/AA cuts ties w/us, no one will be going anywhere. Arbitration or not...watch.

No, probably at least another 500 pilots with AA numbers still at Eagle (perhaps 50-75 already gone). 244 are required to flow with most of those most likely leaving this year. The remainder, who knows when and they can pass when tapped on the shoulder with an AA class date offer.

Once you get down below the 244, most of the remainder are close to or at the bottom of the AA list and won't go until all AA furloughees are at least offered a chance to return, so it might be a few years depending on what's up AMR's sleeve and to what extent the APA is willing to negotiate a contract on, especially scope.

Looks like flowthroughs will be moving steadily (at least 35/month) through perhaps June, then who knows ?

Well, those with AA numbers cannot be denied their flowthrough, but when is another story. Any sale or spin-off etc., will take time and I'd expect the flowthroughs to move slowly but steadily at least through mid-summer.

to be more accurate:
124 before 2001
214 (out of 288 chose) not 244
258 have numbers but will start at 1st yr pay (see APC for this)
possibly 824 if the details can be worked out and the lawsuits are dismissed
of the 258 - they elect when offered. Most are senior CA's that probably cannot afford less than 30K per year.
obviousy - after the 214 it is anyone's guess how many will go.

After AMR has invested millions of dollars in new CRJ aircraft, reconfigurations for First Class cabin, it doesnt make sense to sell Eagle off.
LOL, it's so cute to see these kids and their "plans".

Well I want to thank everyone for your responses! I really wish Eagle does not get divested or spun off but like some of you said, this industry is full of rumors. We'll see. What the heck, I'll give it a chance. I personaly think an airline is better off having its own regional. Outsourced flying is horrible, yesterday I flew on what was supposed to be a Continental flight that ended up being flown by United Express operated by Shuttle America. Horrible! looking at the passengers confused was priceless. They didnt know wether they were flying Continental, United or Shuttle America.

I hope everyone keeps me informed! I will be login on here more often. Cheers!

OR EAGLE!!!!

Uh, excuse me, Eagle is "Outsourced Flying". All regional flying is outsourced flying. Time to wake up now. How many passengers have bought tickets on ae.com? It's aa.com meaning American Airlines, not American Eagle.

I know you're new to this industry but for your own career benefit you must learn that the continued division of pilots into two groups, mainline vs. regional will devastate your career earning potential. Your best hope is that the major airlines discontinue the use of "regional" airlines and begin massive hiring to replace lower paid and equally capable employees at their "regional partners". IMHO, it won't happen but you can always dream of that once upon a time dream job as a major airline pilot.

besides it's easy to secure an interview at a mainline without knowing key people from your guard unit...down with those pesky regionals. up with the good old boy network. I think we should just get a caste system in the good ole usa.
