Just out of curiosity to anyone in the new Colgan class that started today... what are they saying about in terms of what the class is going to be in terms of a Q/Saab split?

I started today...they haven't told us one way or the other. We should find out in a day or so.

In the new contract. If you're on reduced rest you cannot be on duty more than 12hrs the following day. I've put this to the test already and had my last two legs removed that way I wouldnt exceed 12hrs.
I havent flown more than 5 legs in a day. On average we fly 3-4legs on the Q

Out of curiosity what qualifies as reduced rest per the contract? I'd look it up but unfortunately I don't have it handy at the moment. Say if I had a 33hr overnight at an outstation that was changed to 9hrs and change? If so I have a new bone to pick...

The contract is available online via ALPA in PDF form. Know the contract, it's in your best interest.

Aren't we suppose to be getting copies of a contract in paperback?

Yes, I haven't heard a firm date from anyone over here at Mesaba but I know they are working on it. Hopefully we also get a condensed version to carry in our flight bags like we used to have with the old contract.

Flew on that Q400 as a passenger recently - real nice airplane!!!! Cockpit was large with nice glass. You can pretty much fly anything in the majors after flying that (more advanced than an archaic 757). Very impressive performance.

Hope you guys get paid more in the future to fly it...
