Republic or Eagle?
 

Got hired for both airlines and don't know what to choose...

I'd go republic.

Did you pass the review board at Eagle? I've got the conditional letter from AE. How long does it take Republic to notify you if you're hired? I'm interviewing there in a few weeks.

Need a little more info. What is you career goal? Are you willing to commute or relocate to a base? Do you have to fly big shiny jets or are you adventurous enough to fly the Caribbean in the ATR?

As you can clearly see, this is my first post on APC. I read the threads from time to time, but I never felt the need to chime in until now. I even created this account solely to warn you away from Republic. I have been here since '07 and I cant begin to tell you how bad it is here. I dont know what it is like at Eagle, but Im sure it must be far and away better than Republic. That is all. Good luck

I'd stay away from republic, they may have all those great new jets but their contract is one of the least to be desired. Just remember you min guarantee will not be your acutal pay because you don't get paid for WX and MX cancelations. In these past storms I hear republic FO's trying to figure out how they will pay their bills that month since they lost 15 hrs off thier check due to cancelations.

Eagle is also hard to tell. I'm not up on their contract but I have a friend thats been there 8 years and if finally upgrading to Capt.

Take a long hard look at the contracts or ask questions on here that can make the difference in your life.

Republic is a safe bet. Don't listen to the Debbie Downers. We are going to have a new contract some time before the year is over. As for the FO pay, if you can live in base, do it. But you can survive if you commute.
