This is down the road a bit but my sim partner and I studied an hour before and an hour after ever sim session then went out or played video games and watched movies the rest of the time. The instructors said we were one of the best groups (we were both CFI's). Alot of other groups were running profiles and flows for hours and hours every day and still had trouble. The tendency is to overdo it and while it's certainly better than not taking it seriously there is a middle ground in there somewhere. Just my observation.

Systems is cake as long as you pay even a little attention. They want you to pass if you have a class date and will set you up to do so.

I forgot to mention the one thing you can expect during training which is as sure as the sun coming up....

Subway and lots of it. You can expect to eat subway every day for lunch.

Hotel is the Crowne Plaza on N. Second St. There is a bus stop across the street, according to mapquest.

Colgan is in the Crown Plaza. Pinnacle is in the Memphis International hotel which used to be a holiday inn.

NH ground school is now at the Crowne for GROUND for all pilots at Colgan and/or Pinnacle. That was a change as of last week. The company is still in "limbo" with some crews using the courtyard across the street for upgrade and the fairfield/mem airport hotel for recurrents. At the sim building yesterday I saw both vans at once- both crews were DTW crews doing their 6 month training events. In the end game you will either be in the crowne (ground/long term training) or the fairfield (recurrent, recurrent SIM, MEM overnight).

At least that's what I know as of yesterday afternoon.
