I posted my application on airline apps before Christmas and was told that they wouldn't start up the interviewing until Feb 2 and that's when my interview was. One of the guys in my class interviewed last week and is in class this week.

I got JFK. How long have you been on and anticpiate to be on reserve? I've been told 6 mos by a couple of folks for either JFK or DTW. I live in ATL so that's where I want to end up.
I have been on reserve for 3 months exactly, and April should be my first month hold a line.

Reserve has it's moments but honestly it has not been that bad overall. I have been lucky enough to be able to commute in on my first day of duty and go home on my last day of duty. Thus giving me more nights sleeping at my home and not a crash pad. A line holder life is way way better, but reserve hasn't been as bad as I anticipated It to be. And that was with the old reserve contract rules . So you new guys are getting it better...

Does anyone know if they still require the ATP written to get an interview?? I have not done that yet. But when I looked at pinnacles mins on airline apps they do not include that as a requirement, but when I use that feature "compare my app" feature on airline apps with pinnacle they have the ATP written as a check mark for it to be required. Anybody who interviewd recently did you have to have it to the get an interview?? thanks for the info

Although I almost never agree with Rightside, mainly bc he is usually wrong, I might agree with his statement about reserve life.

Got a question about class and what not. I know it is intense and takes a lot of studying and hard work. My problem is I had a interview with colgan two days ago and waiting to hear back. If Im hired they said class date is April 11th on the Q. My problem is I do not turn 21 until May 5th and they told me that from the date of class I would need to take my ATP written within 45 days. So is that doable? With class going on and everything. I went to ATP flight school and its kinda the same kind of training very fast paced and what not. I just bought shepard air and currently studying to try to get ahead. How big of a head ache? I plan on studying hard until class if I get the call back and then looking over the written every other night. I think it is very doable just gonna take a little more work than normal.

Thanks

You can do it... You can drive to a couple places around MEM to take the test.

Thanks for the info...Does anyone know much about airline apps??? I've already published my application to Pinnacle..but without the ATP written, so I guess I've been bypassed for now...I plan to take the written next week and then update my profile on airline apps...will they be alerted to the fact I updated my info about the written or not??? thanks
