Good lord, y'all are up to 75 aircraft now?!

I'll look again. But it wasn't that many airframes. And whoever said Dulles is closing, that sounds pretty far fetched to me...

Won't happen unless there is a contract for more 175s. They won't hitch a sinking ship to a profitable operation. Also Delta won't be happy and could tank both airlines if they pull flying from CP. Delta has alot invested into CP and they won't be happy about Hulas bringing someone into the party. I bet they'd buy CP back before they would allow CP to fly for someone else.

Bottom line, Hulas owns all three and can do what he wants. And he will do what makes him the most money.

Hard to say if any ship is sinking when the company is privately held and there is no publicly available information. Having worked on the operational side with multiple certificate operations, I can tell you they are very expensive compared to merging all into one certificate. Delta has no problem with Republic, ExpressJet, or SkyWest running multiple codeshares on one certificate. Delta has no interest in owning a regional carrier. The only reason Pinnacle was bought is they were looking at a shutdown in bankruptcy otherwise. They will spin off Endeavor before they buy another regional carrier.

Don't worry we won't ruin your perfect operation. If it was cheaper to merge, Hulas would have already merged all the certificates long ago. The only way I see a merger is if it helps with staffing.

There are costs associated with a merger, but long term it makes sense, especially when you see the whipsaw strategy slowly failing. The evidence of RAH scuttling CHQ to staff for republic, and every other regional struggling to staff current flying, merging certificates to create cost savings and aid staffing becomes self evident. Not saying its gonna happen, but I'm sure that is an option that Hulas is strongly considering.

You're right they could go out and fly for others but Delta would most likely try to cancel the flow which is a huge cost savings for Hulas. Let's face it TSA hasn't had anything going on for a long time except a couple airplanes get renewed every couple years. Compass is the preferred DCI carrier at the moment it seems, operationally we are the best or atleast second every month, if that goes away because we are messing around with a merger they will pull airplanes and Hulas will lose alot of money. They would have to tread lightly because Delta will do whatever they want if you **** them off. You know this, you saw it at 9E. A TSA merger would destroy Compass and any advantage they have compared to other regionals ( cost, performance) will be lost.
