When the RAA and ATA are done watering it down with PAC money, the only requirements to be an Airline Captain will be a third class medical and HS Diploma / GED.

Bingo! I wonder how the Colgan families will react to all their hard work being thrown in their face? A sad state of affairs. But, I bet Roger Cohen will fight for the side of safety, so I guess we can all sleep well after all!

Let's not forget ALPA is officially in favor of watering it down. If you give to the ALPA PAC fund, your funds go to help the RAA/ATA cause.

This question pops up enough to be stuck to the top of the Regional forum. Unfortunately, the search function must be broken, since it frequently starts a new thread. Here's to hoping one thread gets the job done until the rule is published in its, no doubt, watered down, bought and paid for version.

-ATP requires 500 cross-country flight hours, 400 night hours;
Epic fail... they need to read the regs a little more...

I am really confused by this "FAA to boost copilot training thing". Why isn't it released on the FAA's website? Where do we find answers, when is this "thing" going to be passed. Is it going to be automatically included in H.R. 5900? What exactly are we waiting for, and were can we get updates about it?

Already was passed. It takes effect August 2013.
