If we could get some systems study info, or cd's on the Collins FMS, or any other CRJ systems or related stuff, that could take the edge of our wait. There are websites but they want $$$..... |
I don't know much because I haven't been online to hear all the good rumors that probably surround the SkyWest / ASA situation. However, I wouldn't be holding my breath for ASA. Especially since SkyWest is slowing taking them over and is hiring like crazy! I wouldn't wait around for ASA unless you live in ATL and absolutely have no other options. But with everyone hiring, you have plenty of options at 1000 and 100!
I am sure Delta doesn't care who does the flying, they just want it done professionally, and of course at the cheapest rate possible so the management can get their bonuses! The Jerks... |
My boss told me that Skywest is having trouble filling their classes and have dropped their minimums below 1000 to get more applicants in and that they may be opening a base in Atlanta in the next year. Anyone heard anything to confirm/deny this?

It does look as though SKW 700's and/or 900's will be operating routes that involve ATL, but they will be based in SLC, as will the crews. |
That is one of the things that I like about SkyWest. They hold true to the mins. Others may bounce up/down but SkyWest holds their ground. Don't worry bud, the time comes fast.

In the long term it does not make economic sense for SKW to have two airlines. Two operating certificates yes. Their pockets are not deep enough to do this long term. They could but it is costing them tens of millions in profits a year.
Also, I'm sick of this forum! This was originally a post about hiring at SKW and it has turned in to an ASA post. This happens way to many times. If you wish to get off subject then start your own posting!!! I currently work for SKW, we just received an email about hiring and SKW is targeting 70-100 pilots a month through March of next year. |
