Kinda like the f'up when Delta merged Comair and Mesaba ground handling and called it "RHS" for Regional handling Services.

It was about 2 hours before they were calling it Red Headed Stepchild.

Delta backpedaled and said RHS was only a temporary name, and announced later in the year the permanant name would be REAS...

I bet that only cost a couple hundred grand.

Wow that's really gay. More gay than PSA. With the amount of peter puffers we have around here that's saying something

As in someone like myself for example? And just what do I have in common with a terrible airline name like SureJet? I'm pretty sure my name is a heck of a lot better, and I certainly smell better as well.

On the other hand - you made a pretty bad post. Shows a lot of ignorance on your part. Nice job diverting the thread though with insults.

Any idea what the time frame would be before a new name is announced? Seems like they might want to put this at the top of their to-do list. Like some of the earlier posters suggested, I really like the Atlantic Express idea. And that didn't require months of market research or millions of dollars either. Win-win? Employees would be relatively happy, public perception would normalize, and the company saves money.

SureJet scrapped!

Because of significant feedback regarding the launch of the SureJet name, the leadership team is parking the name so we can ask for further input from our people. An electronic survey on ourASA will soon be available for everyone, including those who have already submitted comments online, and we encourage everyone to participate.

Forgive him. When he comes in from elementary recess, he might learn enough to put together something that makes sense.

As far as the on-hold new name? That is absolutely the WORST name I have ever heard for an airline.

I was tempted to say that it's something a 5th grader would say. You're right about that.

I do like Atlantic Express. I think it would be great to somehow incorporate both names somehow. Anything is better then SureJet. I mean WHO came up with that? I say send 'em straight to the gallows! SureJet? SUREJET? I'm still laughing about this, but at least it seems as if they're sucking up their pride and are going to fix it. That's a positive sign.

I was thinking Atlantic Jet would be appropriate as well. Atlantic Express just sounds like two names mashed hastily together, and while that may be exactly what it is, we shouldn't be advertising such haste to the public.

I still don't see what's wrong with ExpressJet or Atlantic Southeast Airlines, though.

Atlantic Express or Atlantic Jet sound nice, but they convey the impression of a small, localized regional airline rather than a North American powerhouse which is what they are going for.
