Flywife

I know friends from Eastern that hired at Northwest at age 42 and made it to retirement as a DC-9 captain. There is a huge bubble of retirements coming from all the mid-80s hiring, loads of those guys are in their mid-50s or older. If hired by 40, captain should easily happen. There has been no hiring at AA for a decade.

He will be thrilled to hear this! He can't get an account on APF because his acadmey's email is blocked for some reason, so I troll the forums "for" him haha! Most of what he hears at work and through the rumor mills is negative. He feels "too old," etc. This is good to hear! Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Remember, one step at a time.

Indeed, you are correct, sir! I'm learning that the patience of Job is a job requirement for pilots and their significant others! We're much further than we were in 2007, when the poor hubs puked the entire first week of flight school!!!

Good job supporting him and best of luck to him on his interview. Keep us posted.

Lol-yeah, I'm the first! When he was first considering flight school, the recruiter he was working with at the school told me "he'll be gone all the time, won't make much money and cheat on you multiple times." What a great guy, right?

Becoming a pilot and wearing a uniform does not constitute defying all the laws required to pick up females :D. Plus i am sure he is an honest man who lives his life with integrity just like all the other pilots do.

He really is a great guy, but I'm not an idiot. I heard the Southwest pilot's charming little rant about the quality of FA's just like everyone else!
