BACKGROUND check at Skywest
What does the background check at Skywest entails? Does Bad Credit Disqualify you?

being white does.....

I'm sure you will not have a problem. It's not Blackwater or Xe Aviation. You don't even need a B.S or B.A. You will be fine. Good luck.

A ten year FBI back ground check and PRIA records check, along with reference checks is the minimum required. They have not instituted a credit check, (as far as I know) but they do have folks that look for things that might "reflect poorly" on them in places like Facebook and this web page. If hired you will be held to a new standard of conduct. (I know you didn't ask, just thought you'd like to know)

If your credit is too high, then they feel you aren't a good fit for an airline job and tell you "thanks but no thanks" if you're destitute and nearly bankrupt, then they know you'll fit right in as a first-year FO...

That sounds a little fishy. They most likely do watch this board, but it would be nearly impossible to match a particular APC member to a real person without police power of records subpoena. That only means to me that one would have to assume that a certain APC member is who they think it is. And to take action that might jeopardize a pilot's career on an assumption sounds like a legal bear trap. I'm sure the lawyers in HQ have thought this one thru. Also, doesn't one have to "friend" another on Facebook to allow them into their page? |
