BACKGROUND check at Skywest
#4
A ten year FBI back ground check and PRIA records check, along with reference checks is the minimum required. They have not instituted a credit check, (as far as I know) but they do have folks that look for things that might "reflect poorly" on them in places like Facebook and this web page. If hired you will be held to a new standard of conduct. (I know you didn't ask, just thought you'd like to know)

If your credit is too high, then they feel you aren't a good fit for an airline job and tell you "thanks but no thanks" if you're destitute and nearly bankrupt, then they know you'll fit right in as a first-year FO...

Not sure where your based but I fly out of many domiciles being on reserve and see many coming through training and I would completely disagree. I think the original commentor is hopefully trying to be funny with a poor joke or possibly rather jaded. What a silly remark.

That sounds a little fishy. They most likely do watch this board, but it would be nearly impossible to match a particular APC member to a real person without police power of records subpoena. That only means to me that one would have to assume that a certain APC member is who they think it is. And to take action that might jeopardize a pilot's career on an assumption sounds like a legal bear trap. I'm sure the lawyers in HQ have thought this one thru.
Also, doesn't one have to "friend" another on Facebook to allow them into their page?

Friends of Friends can bite you. Your page may be locked, but if I can see your friends list, visit them, and they are not locked down, I might see some of your posts to their page. There are over 170 security/policy settings on FB.
