Default JFK as a junior base?

Just wondering which regionals consider JFK/LGA to be a "junior" base. Let me put it out there that I DID run a search on the forum/google. To my understanding, a good amount of regionals consider JFK to be a more senior base, although I may have that wrong. Reason why I ask is, I live in Long Island (suffolk county) and it would be ideal to be able to stay where I am and commute (45 minute train ride on the LIRR) to JFK when needed. I've also read that a good number of regionals are pulling out of LGA for whatever reason. APC main page showed that only Pinnacle and Eagle have domiciles in JFK, any others? My search also revealed that many people recommend staying in Kew Gardens. I'm a CFI, just trying to plan for the future. Thanks for any bit of input you may or may not be able to give.

Current JFK is junior for Pinnacle but who knows if it will stay that way with the Saabs going away.

No 9E new hires will get JFK, since all will go to the Saab.

Crashpads in Kew Gardens run roughly $200-250/mo. If you live 45mins away from JFK then you should be fine without doing that.

I feel it is fair to say that JFK is junior at all airlines that have domiciles here, pinnacle is junior , jetblue is the biggest but still the most junior, delta junior, eagle junior, etc.

Unless you live here like in your case , it's a tough place to be based in and out of, unless it's a major airline you work for, at least that's my two cents, I can't see pinnacle pulling out of here anytime soon.

Delta needs a feeder, seeing as it won't be Comair, then who ? ASA , they are sadly loosing planes. Etc

I think 9E is safe for a little while.

Little while .....
