I've gone to using 2 - quart size zip-lock bags with ice and I don't have to tell the hotel driver not to put the bag on its side. This seems to be working well.

I use Amazon.com: Mabis Dmi Healthcare Ice Bags - Large, 11 Inch, Blue, One: Health & Personal Care
It holds a ton of ice, fills quickly, and the water stays frozen for a surprisingly long time. It's never leaked a drop, and doesn't even 'sweat.' Being able to refill at hotel ice machines is key for me. This is the model I've used, and it's been bulletproof.

Not trying to threadjack. I have been flying 135 for five years after a brief stint with 121 regionals. Getting back into 121 shortly. Does the TSA give commuting pilots in uniform any crap about liquids more than 4 oz. in the cooler when you pack your lunch? Thank you.
