AE flow to AA
How does the process of flowing from AE to AA work?
1. Does AA need to recall all its' furloughs first before it starts accepting AE? 2. Once AE pilots flow to AA, what will be the ratio to remaining recalls/street hires? 3. Can AE pilot flow at anytime after an initial offer? 4. Is this flow agreement a side letter or part of a larger agreement? 5. Where can I see/get this agreement? Thanks. |
AE has about 238 with numbers, some mixed in with the last few hundred recalls (but most at the bottom I think). They will be called as their numbers come up. These are a result of "Letter 3" or "Supp W (?)" from 1998.
Then there's an arbitration agreement for 824 to come over 1:1 with street hires. Result of an arbitration remedy/agreement. Then everyone on the property as of today will be given a pref hire at 35% of the total newhire slots. Anyone from the top of the list on down can accept one of these slots at any time; no requirement to choose now or forever forfeit the opportunity. Result of recent LOA. You could try ALPA.org (EGL MEC) for viewing (assuming you're an EGL ALPA pilot) - not sure what's posted there though. |
Yep, AE pilot out on military orders at this time. I was told I had to be on the property in order to be considered. Makes little sense for me to come back, go thru all the AE training just to leave for AA.
Does it specifically state you must be working on the line or just be on the seniority list? (BTW, I am in the top 350 on the AE seniority list). Thank you for your earlier response. |
With exceptions to the 238 and maybe 50% of the 824, You have a better chance of getting hit by lightning and hitting the powerball twice in one month then to get a chance to flow over to American. Plan for the worse and you will never be disappointed in this Industry.

If you are otherwise eligible they can't deny you because you were on mil leave. Since it's an unusual situation, you might have fight the battle though. |

The "active pilot" requirement applies to the "protected pilots"; PPs are all those after the 824 slots are awarded.
Not sure about any requirement for the 824, which it seems you'll be a part of, assuming you don't already have a number. |
