Default Charging for PRIA copies?

I just got a copy of my PRIA paperwork from American Eagle and they included a bill for $25!! Really?? Just to print it off and send it to me? I applied at 2 different companies and imagine I will get billed for both once the records go through. Wonderful.

It's due to high fuel prices

Nobody has ever charged me when I checked the "send me a copy, too" box on the PRIA requests.

I sent to the FAA for a copy of my dossier. I got the complete file, copies of certificates, written test results, pink for my SE commercial: everything, all the way back to my PP written for $5.25, payable to DOT/FAA

They are allowed to charge you, unfortunately. Some do, some don't.

Did it say "You will be billed XX.xx"?

If not then you didn't agree to pay that invoice.

In fairness to the airline, why should they cover the cost of paying the employee, running the copies, putting them in the envelope, and mailing them to you? Imagine the cost of doing this for the hundreds of pilots that apply to several jobs each.

Because we go through the process of getting this far, trainning, studying, paying up the ying yang to rent an airplane for an hour, etc etc, just to get a lousy regional job??!? You got to be kidding me.

you said... " Why should they cover the cost of paying the employee" !!!!!???
Duckdude you must be off your rocker...Isn't that what were doing, flying airplanes for money?

An airline is a busniess, if they cannot be professional enough to put a letter in an envelope and put a stamp on it, we have bigger problems. I realize that trying to get a job you want to be on your best behavior but, a company that doesn't that nickel and dimes you is just a sign of whats to come.

I was refering to the employee that has to print out the paperwork and stuff the envelope, not the pilot. Do you really think I was implying the pilots shouldn't be paid, or was that just for drama?

If you really think the cost of printing out and mailing thousands of these records each year is just a few nickles and dimes, you don't know much about the cost of things now days.
