Skywest Airlines Limited Charter contract with BHP Iron Ore

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Skywest Airlines Ltd (SKYW.LN) Thursday said it has signed a scheduled charter contract with BHP Billiton Iron Ore for air charter services from Perth to Area C and Yandi in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

MAIN FACTS:

-Terms of the contract include:

* Contract is for the provision of scheduled jet charter services between Perth and Area C for BHP's Ore Mine for the production workers.

* Air Services Contract's term is for 12 months with an option for BHP to extend for a further 12 months from September 2012.

* Revenue of the contract billed by Skywest will be at market rates but will vary depending upon the precise number of services flown over the term; Contract includes provision for price adjustments to reflect increases in fuel prices.

-Shares of Skywest Airlines at 1448 GMT up 1.01% at 25 pence.

If I am not mistaken there is a completely seperate airline called Skywest that operates out of Australia...

i heard this is coming at the cost of closing down the slc hub and displacing everyone to "area c" while there the pilots will be required to work in the iron ore mines between flights. good to hear their stock is up 25 pence. lol

This is the Australian airline...similar stock symbol to SKYW in the US.
