Once gubment money has been allocated, it will be spent. Even if the justification goes away.

Guess you can call it "an airport to nowhere."

My girlfriend's sister is hooking up with a ramper in OMA that knows a ramper who works in DFW, and he says AE is going to start non-stop service to the ISS with the Space Shuttle!

Obviously Eagle remains littered with far too many gullible saps. Apparently all management has to do is plant a seed in a notoriously sympathetic propaganda source and belch the same tidbit to a CP or two and Eagle pilots run around in circles bouncing into each other like decapitated fowl.

This is simply planted crap to hopefully influence a positive vote on the crap TA currently in front of Eagle pilots.

The only way this scenario would occur is in an AMR bankruptcy and if that occurs, it would take 12 months to work out the US Airways merger details and then AA would bs so cheap to put airplanes at, there would be little point of putting these aircraft at Eagle.

Stop sending the message to your management that you'll fall for just about anything and wake up !

Statements you should never take at face value:

The check is in the mail.
I'll still respect you in the morning.
I swear I can't get pregnant.
I'm from the FAA, and I'm here to help you.
My airline is getting bigger planes.

AA is not feverishly trying to divest Eagle. It would take too long to go into detail, but a full on divestiture is actually looking less and less likely by the day.

I am not excited about 100 seat jets other than the opportunity to fly the E-190 which is apparently a fantastic airplane. The point is that this is further reason why our pilot group must reject our current TA proposal. End of story.

There is alot that you guys outside of AMR/Eagle are not aware of. Those of us who work for the company, attend the road shows, talk to senior Captains, people in the cheif pilots office, union reps, etc... have a wealth of unsubstantiated rumors/Kool-Aid to share.

Try not to sh*t on it next time.

There, fixed it for you!

Please, enlighten us then if you know it all.

For the record, I'm not pulling for 100 seat jets one way or the other. I'm simply providing information. Some of you are acting like I'm the one who wrote that article.

And if that article was the only leg I had to stand on I wouldn't have shared anything. Fact is I have been hearing and discussing this with various senior level people at Eagle over the past few weeks who have confirmed-both directly and indirectly- that something is in the works regarding 100 seat jets.

Now, if any of you have INFORMATION to contribute...by all means do. Simply arguing for argument's sake with nothing solid is pathetic. Then again this is the internet....

Of course! Major changes in the business are almost ALWAYS disclosed to a few front-line employees, both directly and indirectly, by senior level people:rolleyes: Suuuuure... Assuming these conversations with "senior-level" people occurred, what happened is they just poured you a cup of kool-aid for their own amusement and you walked away with the biggest purple mustache they had ever seen. They are probably still laughing.

Is there some reason why you are pounding your feet on the ground about this? You don't even work for Eagle...what difference does it make to you??

If you would like to provide a logical argument..for whatever reason; start with this one: Explain why Eagle's terminal in DFW is being expanded and modified to accomodate 100 seat jets. This is not rumor but fact.

Is it possible that a new tenant will be taking over some space in the Eagle terminal while Eagle's flying is relocated/reduced? Maybe AMR is about to announce a deal for E190s at mainline to fill gap between the CR7 and MD80? Hell, maybe some management goon decided that passengers would stop complaining about the size of the planes flying to College Station and Lubbock if they switched to a bunch of hardstands where people could stand outside and see the whole airplane. Who knows?! What I can say with certainty is that those who DO know are not wandering around flapping their gums to every line guy who asks.

What I've learned during my time in this business is that if it's a rumor in the crewroom then it probably won't happen. All the earth-shattering things that have come down the pipe since I've been at XJT have come completely out of the blue. My advice to you is this: Stop feeding/being fed by the crewroom rumor trolls.

Looks like Memphis is following down the same path...

Out of curiosity, what does the AA/AMR agreement say about codeshare? Could AMR spin off AE/Executive and have one of them feed AA and the other simply codeshare with AA? If so, no scope violation and don't have to wait for BK.

Well, the way some things are shaping up, it's FOR SURE heading down the XJT road.

Well, in XJT's case, yahoo finance and delta.com know A LOT of stuff before even XJT management does.

I do NOT want eagle to fly bigger planes, I want mainline to fly them.

all about you, I see.

That is not a rumor from what I heard between the police/homelandsecurity/chief pilot while waiting to go in with a question.

I think your def. listening to a few idiots in the Dfw crew room and need to stop, its beyond reasonable. Also I think the divestiture is looking more and more likely daily, since everything keeps moving along the process. The question will be do they get it done before filing CH 11.

a fear monger, and someone who has no idea of what goes on at AA/AMR/AE.
but the rumors about police from the DCP office is good one to scare the VOTE NO people. What else do you and your AE MEC lackey's going to do. Have all the Vote NO pilots fired until you get enough yes votes.

True, but you cannot be a feeder for AA and do the codeshare. MQ certificate flys the feed and the NA certificate does the codeshare with AA after the ATR's are parked or transfered to MQ certificate.

Actually, the renovation of A is supposed to be for all the airlines that are currently operating out of T2. And as someone who flies as a pax out of there monthly on UAL, I can't wait. T2 is a sh**hole.
