Good point...that's why I wear a Bose:D I guess you are correct...if the industry takes the legendary dump, we are all pretty much up the proverbial tributary without a sufficient means of locomotion. And yes, in this situation, it'd be rough to be at a Lakes or Colgan. I guess I'm not planning for things to go wrong, and I honestly don't think they will. However, that's a bet that many have lost in the past. When it comes down to it, I still am a believer that Colgan, Lakes, and other semi-reputable turboprop regionals are the best long-run decision in terms of career progression. Of course, when it comes to QOL, there is no question there...it's all in what you want.

I love the fact that when someone describes those places...they best term they can come up with so far has been "semi-reputable"...

(Sorry, I couldn't resist)

Yeah, I figure there's no sense in trying to sugar coat things.:)

I am not talking about GoJets or Mesa, but perhaps Big Sky or another airline that will hire at 500-600 hours TT (I currently only have 40 Multi, bummer) that would be okay to work at for a few years or so. It seems like flying a turboprop would be better time spent than instructing out of a 152, and that could get the PIC turbine faster as well. I guess that I am not seeing why someone would opt to instruct for a long time instead of going to a regional. Perhaps to get on to a "better" airline like ExpressJet or SkyWest instead of BigSky?

All regionals are the same.....take the one that hires you unless you get multiple offers....most of Gojet pilots have over three thousand hours...they need guys they can upgrade in six months.

All cars are pretty much the same so why would you drive a Yugo (GoJets, Mesa) when you can drive a Bentley (Skywest, XJT, Whisky)?

'Cuz I'd rather be a Yugo captain than a Bentley FO:p

I hear ya, but if I can make the same cash and have better QOL, Ill take the Bentley FO over the Yugo CA anyday:D I have had enough jobs where I absolutely hated life to know not to make that mistake again.
