I believe Delta did the same thing. We'll see how it works out. I have a bunch of friends who fly for XJT and hopefully everything works out for you guys.

No real surprise here, at least for the employees, but at least there's finally something "official" out there. I don't know, but it seems to me that they wanted to get the word out prior to the NBAAC.

I was at Atlantic Coast and we tried the same thing and it fell on its face for a number of reasons. First when doing that type of ops. you need the flexability of no work rules. Our pilots were not to keen on lossing our hard fought work rules. Second, you need a first class dispatch and schedualing that gets what charter is all about... the customer and that never happended at ACA. I wish you guys the best of luck!

As well as aircraft that have good MX relibliity, which XJet thankfully has. The 328 was the worst aircraft to attempt that with. I remeber voting that POS LOA down about the charter. The pay would have been great, but the sched would have sucked total a$$!

What was the schedule like? The rumor is our schedule will be like the fractionals, with a 6 or 7 on/6 or 7 off type deal. The pay bump is supposed to be pretty decent too. According to the announcement there will be a dedicated dispatch/scheduling department for the charters and XJT has some experience with it already from the FBOs they have been buying up the last few years.

They would have been crap, had they passed the LOA and implemented it.

Care to elaborate? Saying it would have been crap really doesn't give much to compare with. Was there no monthly gurantee? Was it 24 hour on call for the whole month?
