Yes. You can live anywhere as long as you show up fit for duty at showtime. Now, arranging your schedule to do this may be very tough but if you love where you live then go for it. At XJT I know of two guys who commute internationally - one from Madrid and one from Lisbon.

An international commute! That will be hell. Don't think of it as living in Brazil, think of it as living in base and making many vacations to Brazil on your few days off.

Man that sounds absolutely miserable.

But as long as you're in place at report time - nobody seems to care.

At a regional at the bottom of the list?

Have fun.

As one poster said, think of it as living in your base and going on a vacation (a few days) once a month (if you're lucky) back to Brazil.

Skywest had at least one dude commuting from Bangkok. If you are senior enough to manage your schedule it can work. If not, seems like it would be miserable.

Why are you leaving brazil? Airlines are hiring down there. go charter or 91 if your English proficient you could land a international jet and make much more than a regional guy in the states. They are out their just have to network. Plus you get a month off for vacation!
