That's funny. All the guys in my NWA class in 2008 were civilian. Delta hired at least 50% civilian in the last round in 2010, most were regional guys.

Ok, Im having to listen to 2 different things right now, and heard bits and pieces.

As a former 9E'er I wish you guys and girls the best of luck. It's a shame how things have turned out so quickly.

Granted some of the FAs are getting a little shrill, but the Colgan FA's have every right to be angry. To be told Colgan is shutting down and the only option for staying is to start at Pinnacle as a preferential new hire is a slap in the face. Seniority issues aside, the company could still give them their longevity for non rev and pay purposes...

Once again, you're wrong.

That is one thing that is wrong with this company... There is no mutual respect between employee groups. If it weren't for the flight attendants we wouldn't be flying. Lack of mutual respect, lack of a shared goal and especially a lack of shared knowledge not only between management and the front line employees but all of the employee groups including dispatch, scheduling, all the way to communications with a gate agent is why we are in this mess. No one works together anymore. All this Menke says is that he is abiding by the contract. He passes his questions on to other board members because he lacks a knowledge of what is actually going on in the front line.

This guy is a clueless bomthrower. Anybody that knows anything about this industry knows the majority of airline pilots at the majors will come from the regionals. Preferences aside, the military is not producing pilots anywhere near the numbers they have in the past.

Ok. I guess I don't know who my own airline hired. My class at NWA in 2008 consisted of ALL regional guys. That's just ONE class.

The reality of the situation is that many military guys aren't leaving. With pensions no longer being provided many guys are staying in.

Irregardless the fact remains that there will be way more regional pilots looking to get on with a major than their will be seats at the majors for them.
