American had the Q400s in DFW during November and December and wants to use them to replace ATRs. United wants more Q400s and was putting first class in them. Qs will have a future because of the price of jet fuel. They will go somewhere, my guess is Skywest or Commutair, maybe Piedmont. We'll see...

That would be the end of 9E. This is probably the start of the end anyway. Pinnacle is going to be 1200 pilots all on max pay in a few years. Brilliant idea to shrink to profitability. How fast are they going to burn through that 30 million retraining the whole company again? They should just liquidate now and get it over with.

Yes because people in Alaska/the Pacific Northwest have ANYTHING in common with LA, THE NORTHEAST, or the the East Coast. This is a long term trend. It might not yet be effecting a company named ALASKA AIRLINES, but for the rest of the country it is the case. Also those 1900s in the middle of North Dakota are no example of anything.

I highly doubt out of seniority furloughs will happen, I'm on the 200.

I'd like to see someone ask him what his plans are for the extra 200K he just got. New car, new addition on the home, maybe take his family someplace nice this summer. Perhaps bodyguards to flank him in Memphis as he lays off half the company. That might be a smart investment.

reading the faqs on the company site, thank god for the jcba and the language brought over from the measaba and old pcl contracts. if you didnt notice, all fas, mechanics etc will have to reapply for any vacancies at pinnacle and start over as new hires. no moving expenses, no furlough protections, year one pay etc. once the colgan cert is done, any remaining non pilot furlough will be terminated. this is going to suck for us all. we thought 11-09 was a mess. enjoy the 250k menke.

I'm just wondering how you get "labor concessions" out of RJ drivers making peanuts and living on the same.

The RJ industry is facing very serious survival challenges in the long run and it's all driven by one primary factor and that is the cost of petroleum. No matter how one angles on the sudden about face in this business, you'll come back to fuel prices in the long range strategic plans the majors are making for survival in the $150+ per barrel oil era.

In the end they'll be a handful of RJ operators left, albeit much larger and consolidated just like the majors. Folks this is a Darwinistic business process that cannot be stopped and has been going on through peaks and troughs for decades. This is The Airline Industry. Lions, tigers and bears oh my.

Anyway, no point crying over spilled milk. Good luck to all.
Shyguy, you are a GOD! You are the most enlightened person EVER! I want to have your baby in hopes that my progeny will be at least half as smart as you!

Do you have a website? Because I really need some photos to enhance my wanking.
