After listening to the arguements, I'm gonna bet Mesa. RAH is out of the prop business. C5 is having growing pains of their own. Skywest is still working through the purchase of XJT. Prior to this, I hadn't considered Mesa, now they seem the most logical to me. There's no way we are keeping them based on our new deal with Delta.

Neither does a jet operator! Delta has had a large portion of control over Pinnacle, now they control it. They are set to screw United and US Airways.

I think they have a slight chance, as they are already a DHC-8 operator and for United none the less. The battles they face are staffing the planes (pilots+FA's), upgrading MX and general support (DX, scheduling, etc.) for the airplane. One thing that is not helping them is their on time percentage. I have no idea what it is, but it can't be good with their MX gripes and the 300's were a disaster getting them online but maybe they'll tell United that they learned from the experience and can do better??

I think it would about be what Colgan went through getting these airplanes up and running. Remember Colgan was a small group too when they first started getting the Q's. I don't think C5 or anyone for that matter can get 30 Q's up and running in less than 6 months.

I think they've got a better shot than Mesa personally.

I don't think there's a chance in hell that PCL keeps these planes. Delta has them by the balls with the DIP financing or whatever and part of the deal was to drop the Q400's leaving United scrambling to replace the lift. Pretty smart move on Delta's part, but sad that they play that way.

Are there any other Q only airlines in the US? So once this happens. Lynx certificate will be gone and Pinnicle certificate will be gone also. Who does that leave? Still likely won't happen for that one airline due to being too mgmt being too conservative and not taking chances.

Then I put their odds just a bit lower than C5's as they don't operate the type anymore. Sure it'd probably be easy to start up again, but C5 has the upper hand with already operating the type.

I put money down that the UAL deal falls through and someone unrelated gets them with a better and more secure bid. You know a company backed by 26 billion has a great shot.
