You have not lost it yet, dont count yourself out.

No one wants you guys to lose your flying, but if the news it true, and its up in the air regardless, then everyone would rather it be them. Not sure why C5 wants it, they should want somewhere that isnt a crud whole to get it. They are like Colgan Light. Well they are more like busch light if colgan was Budweiser.

Skypilotsv1984 04-12-2012 07:27 PM

I just wish they would figure out where these stupid planes are going, I'm sick of playing musical airplanes for the last 4 years.

United Airlines, which recently blended Continental Airlines into its brand, has several commuter carriers flying under the United Express brand in those markets:

• Waco: Colgan Air, three flights, and Atlantic Southeast Airlines, one flight
• College Station: Colgan, seven flights, and ASA, one flight

• Killeen/Fort Hood: Colgan, six flights

• Tyler: Colgan, five flights

• Monroe, La.: Colgan, four flights, and ASA, one flight under the United Express brand

• Dallas Love Field: Colgan, three flights; SkyWest, two; and ASA, four flights

• Del Rio: Colgan, two flights

• Beaumont/Port Arthur: Colgan, five flights

• Binghamton, N.Y.: Colgan, four flights

That just smells fishy after AMR comes out with a pay scale for a turbo prop of that size.

Its not like we didn't know these people were going to move around and that it would be junior people. The displacement said how many it would be.

It's not a surprise to me. The morning I saw AMR declared bankruptcy, I knew my time as CA was limited. Still, there is an impact when you see your name on the displaced list.

g-code 04-13-2012 06:51 AM

AE ground handling has been doing handling for United Express stations for years....

If you've only seen it once, you're ahead of some of us during the flow back period. 2 or 3 times was common.

Why can we ground handle, and get paid by UAL to ground handle, but can not bid on the flying????

Bruno82 04-13-2012 11:39 AM

I doubt I see the left seat at Eagle again.

CrustyFE 04-13-2012 11:55 AM

On a bright note, I look forward to the improvement in QOL when I go back to the right seat as a senior FO. :)

Don't know how long I'll be senior though...

Wingtips 04-13-2012 03:44 PM

Stop being so doom/gloom, we are going to grow out of all this, didnt ya hear we are getting the PNCL Qs and flying for UAL. Also we will get the new 70 seat jets when AA scope caves. Also AA is going to see big retirements and hire soon causing more flowups. Oh ya and all the drama queens bailed for other regionals.

Oh, come on now, don't be so negative. Thats what all the displaced captains were saying back in 09. I say we'll be back in the left seat within a year. Nice move with the CRJ thing though. I'm going back to DFW FO in June.

Well, I say we'll either be back within a year or so, or probably never again. Things are either gonna turn out well here, or go straight down the crapper.

I finally left after I saw my name for the third time on the displacement list. Times are different than a few years ago, but be open to change. I was the number one FO in DFW and life was good. It was hard to look outside but it worked out.

Keep your mind and options open.

dashtrash300 04-19-2012 09:47 AM

Just curious how many out of the 3000 some pilots at eagle were hired in 2008 and later?

852 which includes the 75ish on furlough.

3221 pilots on the seniority list, but keep in mind we have a good amount of people on long term leave, not sure that number, but its a good amount total.

I'm happy living in my parents basement. Once I gave up on revolving my life around impressing chicks life got more enjoyable for me.

Did it part 61 with a family member cfi. In a 1/4 share ownership of a 150 that burnt car gas when i was 15/16ish. This was when gas was still cheap. Also cleaned planes mowed airport for money, while working at supermarket. Family helped a tiny bit. Also applied for scholarships at a state school for college. Still carry some payments for it all, but didn't go the six figures riddle road. Also got job at 260 hours and have no cfi.

Cool story bro, but no one cares, most people have huge debts, can not live on 40k/yr. I am in a similar boat as you, as I did it 61 from an inheritance, but no one give a crud. See ya on the street.

That is a first. I just do not care, I also got a blank check to go fly at a local school and go to penn state, and have no debt and get to now live in base in my own APT. But I do not care who else does.

However I wish that other idiots would not post enjoy being poor in your parents house, as many of us can happily live on 40k/year no problems.

Wingtips 04-21-2012 06:56 PM

Also anyone that pays 100k+ (like way +) for school/flying to go to riddle etc, I do not get that at all. Not sure who is the bigger idiot, you or your parents.

Aren't you some 22 year old eagle guy that's going to get furloughed? You have over 40 years left in your career. If you're this bitter this young, do us a favor and get out.

I wouldn't go as far as to call someone an idiot. If that's the path someone chooses, then its on them. It doesn't make it a bad choice or the wrong choice. It can all pay off somewhere down the road. If that's the case, no regrets.

Well they come on here and post enjoy living in your parents basement. That is not true for many, such as myself or RT. We elected cheap routes, and can live a middle class life in our early/mid 20s, that a large part of America struggles to do in their 30s/40s.

never said I am a guy.

Who knows who will get furloughed, but we have to drop 300+ pilots before I am gone. IF I get the boot, so be it, I am glad, since that means this place is getting the serious shredder, and I will gladly go to another regional, with 1600+ hours and an ATP ( I would go pay for one if it is prior to the ATP rule next AUG and EGL giving me one).

I see your point. Let'm brag and boast or what ever. Everyone has a story. Some paths were easy and others were hard. That's life.
