Eagle Displacements

A ton of displacements just came out at Eagle. Thanks for playing. Good luck to all.

FL410 04-11-2012 03:45 PM

Mind to tell how many and from what to what? Ex-Eagle here and wishing the best for my guys/gals.

positiverate33 04-11-2012 04:49 PM

Also Ex-Eagle wishing the best to all of you, Hope you all get back to where you want to be quickly!

MoarAlpha 04-11-2012 04:57 PM

So lots of displacements, but no word on furloughs huh?

love2av8 04-11-2012 05:01 PM

Yeah about 350 people affected so it's a bit hard to break it down. I think pretty much every base but LAX is affected.

LAX will be affected. Everything rolls downhill.

jumpseat2024 04-11-2012 05:16 PM

seems like most of the bottom of the list is getting sent to NY..a couple SJU ATRs

love2av8 04-11-2012 05:23 PM

Yeah you're right, there was a handful in LA affected. So pretty much every base got it. I doubt the guys assigned SFA will ever get to training but you never know with this place!

Not yet. More than likely in the next few weeks. Just waiting on the dust to settle.

I thought they were closing SJU? Or is that still not announced so they are pretending it's staying open?

MoarAlpha 04-11-2012 06:23 PM

Saw tons of Eagle ATRs in MYR last week...

Fly the Cessna 172 - YouTube

I don't know how we got on this subject. Normally I would be offended the subject has strayed, but this I can make an exception!

"Flyin' smoooOOOooooth~...OOOOoooOOOhhh yeaahhhhh!"

Nothing on furloughs yet ,

I hear it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.

Only that junior pilots usually fly weekends because they can't hold those days off, so same deal!

My guess is no announcement will be made until they get a clear picture of how much APA will cave on scope.

Holy ******* I totally forgot about those videos. I came across his stuff years ago when I was in high school, just trying to find airplane stuff online. Somehow I came across a clip of the guy doing stand up at a club, too. What a badass.

samballs 04-12-2012 08:00 AM

Sooooo, I'm confused, or maybe immune to shock caused by airline mang. (I was at Comair for 7yrs) but why is this a surprise? this displacement came out almost a month ago and closed a week or two ago, yet no one really talked about it then. Its not like we didn't know these people were going to move around and that it would be junior people. The displacement said how many it would be.

ya I agree, its not a surprise. Even furloughing the bottom 300 at this point is no surprise. From year start till Nov we are parking about 30 ATRs.

I know, I'm starting to think a lot of people at eagle are playing the "If I don't see it it won't happen", and ignored the displacement when it came out. Now that the results are out, they're saying oh crap that was for real, I should have put in choices for bases and equipment. If not then I have no clue as why the big surprise

i also think the company may have plans for more 70 seat jets and we are holding pilots. Also our management is aware of a pilot shortage, and the up coming FAA changes. They make that very clear over and over again. I would not be surprised if they keep us over staffed.

I'm afraid to touch that, but I tend to agree.

I personally believe we could furlough 100 right now and not cause a staffing problem. I tend to lean that something more is in the works for the time being.

meeko031 04-12-2012 10:53 AM

saw a couple of jr captains displaced out of jce to nfc, why were they not able to bid back to same equipment in the right seat? does the jet to jet "thing" apply

Maybe they were smart and realized a sr. FO usually makes more and has a way better life then a jr capt.

If you are JCE and you have competed IOE then you are getting captain pay, by bidding CRJ FO the company has to do long term trainig with you and you will recive EMB CA untill you finish IOE! This could also be a factor! Or they just want to fly the CRJ

Why can AMR EGL do ground handling for UAL but not flying. Eagle had bid on DAL flying in 2008, but was rejected because we were owned by AMR, I do not get that logic.

Wishful thinking... When does airline management ever think ahead?

Lol my new rumor is that we are getting the Qs for UAL flying. If we are doing ground handling we will do flying too. You heard it here first!
